What a busy few months we have had here at Fitzworthy Equestrian. Not only have the staff be battling against the weather, caring for our wonderful team of horses, but also continuing to offer great and ever expanding services to our ever loyal customers. However, today the sun is shining and the horses are enjoying some turnout in the school with no rugs on so we are all looking forwards to a wonderful spring and summer, fingers crossed.

British Riding Club Centre

We here at Fitzworthy are pleased to announce that as of January 1st 2017 we are a Riding Club Centre. To celebrate this we held our very first Meet and Greet morning. We had tea, coffee and a wide selection of cakes. Peter Hircock, the yard farrier attended and gave a very interesting talk using props to explain anatomy and bio- mechanics of the lower limb and foot. We were then lucky to have Eulalia Speaight, (Lally) a McTimoney therapist come and treat Charlie. We had a wonderful informative morning and are looking forwards to hosting more informative sessions and many riding workshops. 
February saw our first ridden workshop, with Andrew Lovell. The event was very popular with all five sessions fully booked with our members. We look forwards to seeing some familiar and new faces in March for our indoor cross country workshop with Louise Sharpe.

During these winter months our pony clubbers have been working very hard earning there mini badges. We are looking into holding their E and D tests during the spring. 
We are looking forwards to holding our non equine badge days during the Easter holidays. For more information on this new adventure please ask the office.

Staff News

As the winter months come to end that staff are all very happy to see the daffodils and snowdrops appearing around the outdoor arena. We say good bye to Mark and Viv who both for personal reasons have had to move on. We welcome back Dee Charters who has returned on a Wednesday evening and Saturday morning. We also welcome Morgan Ingram to the team as assistant yard manager. 
Congratulations to our two Duchy college apprentices Rachel and O'sheanna who have both completed their NVQ Level 2 in horse care and riding. We hope that both girls will continue to work with us and train to be the best they can. Well done girls, we are very proud. 
Paul, Rachel, Charley and Sam have all nearly completed the BHS PRT course, and we are looking forwards to Louise Sharpe returning to start a stage 2 training group.
